The Power Cut…

I was sat at my desk this morning with a very busy day ahead. I had Blogs to post to, ezines to create and sales copy to write.

Then, without warning, it happened.

The power went off. It turns out that a tad too many people in Lismore today were turning their air conditioners on and it blew out the local transformers.

Now, I live in a nice home but it gets VERY hot without the air conditioner.

So, there I was - sat there in the heat and it struck me that in my business, NOTHING works when the power is cut.

Plus today of all days I had deadlines to meet!

I waited and waited and waited and then at about 5pm the supply was reconnected.

Now - I have said all that to say this: "Marketing is to your business what the power supply is to your house"

But unlike the power supply that is largely in the hands of a third party, whether or not you actually 'Do' any marketing is up to you.

But rest assured, without it - NOTHING works.

I can certainly relate to that, Chris. For any of my products or services, if I don't to any marketing, the sales simply dry up, and hence the money too.

This of course does not apply so much to my passive sources of income, but they definitely seem to be a bit more tricky to set up.

Good Marketing + An In Demand Product = Printing Money

No Marketing + An In Demand Product = Ziltch

Cheers for the nice analogy!

I know what you mean Chris, I have a UPS system now, only cost me around £50 + V.A.T. - It is worthwhile investing in one!!!
