I recently spent some time listening to an interview done with successful internet marketer Terry Dean, who has been successfully making money online since 1995. I want to share with you what I have learned about how to grow your income momentum online.
1. Create a Real Business Not a Hobby Like Business
This is a really important mindset to have if you want to build momentum in your business. A lot of people go online and they treat their business and their blog more like a hobby than an actual business. This is not the best way to make money and it will hold you back. There are some great tips in this interview that will get you thinking about your business as a real business, not just a hobby.
2. You Need To Create Your Own Products
Hearing this straight from the horses mouth is great because I am currently in the process of creating my own products for the internet marketplace. Creating your own products is the most effective way to make money online. For years I was personally afraid of creating my own products because I felt I did not have the expertise or credibility to do it. Now I realise that I was stupid in thinking this. 3. If Your Making Money On Lead Generation You’re Not Trying Hard Enough
This is a really really interesting point that came up and really got me thinking. If you are actually making money on lead generation then you are not working hard enough. Because if you are making money on lead generation you are likely missing out on a lot of high end product sales later down the track. This is a really interesting thought and will certainly change the way I generate leads.
4. Building Passive Income
Passive income is income that you have to do little or no work in order for it to continue coming in. You work once and earn income indefinitely. This should be everyone’s aim and this interview really gives some clarity on the subject.
5. Gain Credibility
Terry Dean wrote a book not to make money or build leads, but to build credibility to sell his other products. This is really interesting and I discovered that credibility sells products so you should do everything you can to gain credibility.
6. Create Systems and Outsource
If you are working online it should be your goal to keep yourself out of the loop. You should not be involved in any of the daily running activities of your business. Eventually you should be able to outsource all customer support, email sending, simple marketing and just spend some of your time focusing on creating products. This gives you freedom of time and space. This interview really helps you understand why you should do this and gives a bit of insight into how you can do this.
7. Avoid Success Trapping
Wow, being trapped by success. Who would have thought that this was possible. But it completely is. A lot of people get trapped by success because even though they are earning $1 million per year they might be spending $950,000 per year. They can’t stop working because they have mortgages and loans to pay. This interview taught me that you should live below your means, because there is more freedom in doing that than being trapped by your own success.
